Sun Protection Simplified – How UV Apparel is Changing the Industry

Many of us fail to understand that there are plenty of silent killers which are working around us and causing harm to our body. From the constant blue light feeding into your eyes through your mobile phone and your computer display to the hundreds of processed foods that a person eats, everything around you is slowly killing you. One of the things that most people discount entirely is the harmful rays of the sun. Protecting yourself from the sun is necessary if you want to live a long and healthy life. Think of the sun rays as a double-edged sword. On one side, the rays of the sun help generate vitamin D on your body. On the other hand, the constant exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer that could kill you over time.

There are plenty of harmful effects that you need to be wary of. Constant exposure to UV rays can result in skin cancer in some extreme cases, melanoma skin cancer. The UV rays can also cause a myriad of other issues, like darkening your skin leading to moles, freckles or an acne outbreak. While there are plenty of companies that currently manufacture sunscreens and other topical ointments that are designed to protect you from the harmful rays of the sun, Bu Brands makes some of the best but is trying to do something different.

Despite the fact that they already have a collection of different kinds of sunscreens, the company has also introduced something remarkable: the lightest weight UV resistant clothing. "It feels like I'm wearing nothing, almost naked, is what we hear". Now, with 99% UV protection, you don't need to worry about the rays of the sun penetrating your skin and causing damage to your body. In fact, the company makes use of the latest weaving technologies in order to create UV apparel that has a rating of more than SPF 50+. That's a tall claim to make, especially without the use of any kind of chemicals, it's all in the weave.

Jeff and Josie Kletter created Bu Brands in 2017 and launched in 2018. The two realized that there was a void of unique sunscreens and UV apparel that people could wear whenever they went outdoors. They realized that many people were quite wary of the sun and as a result of that, were unable to enjoy their time outside properly.

"That’s why we came up with Bu Brands, a company that was geared solely towards producing high quality, efficient, and sustainable sun protection products. Today, the company has grown and has established itself as a leader in manufacturing sun protection products."

Headquartered in Malibu, California, the company’s products are packaged in recyclable, non-pressurized bottles and recyclable PP sprayers. The company takes its environmental concerns seriously, so they produce their products in a solar-powered facility making Bu sunscreen virtually Carbon neutral. The company uses environmentally friendly practices in its manufacturing and are constantly coming up with unique ways by which they can save money and contribute back to the people.
